Bill to promote Mahatma Gandhi's legacy introduced in US House of Representatives
America’s legendary civil rights chief Congressman John Lewis has launched a invoice within the Home of Representatives to advertise the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr and sought a budgetary allocation of USD 150 million for the subsequent 5 years. Launched to mark the 150th start anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Home Invoice (HR 5517) affirms the friendship between the 2 largest democracies of the world and honours the legacy and contributions of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr Martin Luther King. Amongst different issues, the invoice proposes establishing a Gandhi-King Growth Basis, which shall be created by the USAID beneath the Indian legal guidelines. It’s being co-sponsored by six different Democratic lawmakers, three of whom are Indian-Individuals — Dr Ami Bera, Ro Khanna and Pramila Jayapal. The three different Congressmen are Brenda Lawrence, Brad Sherman and James McGovern.
