Michigan congresswomen Dingell, Lawrence share reactions to Virginia shooting

Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence released the following statement after shots were fired striking individuals during a baseball practice: “Early this morning, Congressman Steve Scalise, Congressional staff and Capitol Police were victims of a horrific attack when a gunman opened fire during their baseball practice. Members of Congress received a bipartisan briefing on the incident.   “We cannot thank the bravery of the Capitol Police enough for their quick and heroic response to prevent any further tragedy.  My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this heinous crime and I wish them a full and speedy recovery
