Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) plans to join a new congressional caucus aimed at bringing together blacks and Jews — a group that will include her frenemy Long Island Republican Lee Zeldin. “Glad to see colleagues follow through in working on the things that unite us and not divide us,” said Omar, who has drawn heat for her harsh criticism of Israel and suggestions that American Jews are loyal to the Jewish state. The new group was launched on Monday with founding members including Reps. Zeldin, Brenda Lawrence (D-Michigan), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Florida), Will Hurd (R-Texas) and John Lewis (D-Georgia). Zeldin, who is Jewish, and Omar, who is Muslim, might be the most controversial members of the kumbaya clique.
