Tammi Carr Testifies Before Congress Over Proposed Budget Cut
The fight against DIPG took Tammi Carr to Washington today. The Saline mother of the late Chad Carr testified before a congressional committee in Washington, D.C., pushing back against a proposed cut in funding for the National Institutes of Health. With her husband, Jason, and sons, C.J. and Tommy, also attending the session, along with U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Mich., Carr gave an emotional plea before the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and chairman Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah. The hearing was broadcast on cspan.org. Each congressperson on the committee today, including Brenda Lawrence, D-Mich., shared how Carr's story had touched them. Many related to their own experiences with family and friends. One asked Carr to share a bit about Chad.
