U.S. Rep. Lawrence Announces $1.6 Million Grant Award to Community Health Services in City of Detroit
Detroit, MI – Today, U.S. Representative Brenda L. Lawrence (MI-14) announced a grant award worth $1,626,506 to Community Health & Social Services Center, Inc. from the Department of Health and Human Services as a part of its Health Center Cluster Program. This program funds community-based health centers to provide high-quality, comprehensive, and culturally competent primary healthcare services.
“With the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, it is crucial that community health centers and clinics have the resources they need to care for people who come through their doors,” said Rep. Lawrence. “Health centers across Michigan are working around the clock to care for the hundreds of thousands of Americans diagnosed with COVID-19, and this grant will provide essential resources to do just that. This grant will help Community Health & Social Services fulfill its mission to serve the Detroit community.”
