U.S. Rep. Lawrence Announces MI-14 New Staff Promotions and Hires
Detroit, MI - Today, U.S. Representative Brenda L. Lawrence (MI-14) announced new staff hires and promotions in her district and D.C. offices.
“My priority has and will always be to serve the people of Michigan’s 14th Congressional District. To ensure that I can meet the needs of my constituents, I’ve assembled a staff that represents the very best people in Michigan and across the country. They’re dedicated public servants who understand the sacred responsibility to put Michiganders and our Constitution first,” said Rep. Lawrence.
Curtis Doster, Jr., an attorney by trade, was hired as the Chief of Staff for Rep. Lawrence’s office and is based in Washington, D.C. He’s an African American who was born and raised in Southfield, Michigan and has previously served as the Congresswoman’s Legislative Aide and Legislative Director. Prior to his new role, he worked for Rep. Antonio Delgado (NY-19) as his Senior Policy Advisor and also worked for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles for over five years in its Office of the General Counsel and its Labor and Employment team, playing an integral role in its national and local collective bargaining negotiations. Curtis received his bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and his Juris Doctorate from Michigan State University College of Law.
Jacqueline Elliott was promoted to the District Director and is based in her home city of Southfield, Michigan. Before beginning her journey with the U.S. House of Representatives, Jacqueline received her bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Sport Management from Bowling Green State University in 2014. After pursuing freelance work and communications internships, she completed her master’s degree from Wayne State University focusing on Public Relations and Organizational Communication in 2018. During her time with Rep. Lawrence since 2016, Jacqueline has grown to have a strong passion for women’s issues, particularly African-American millennial women in Detroit. Jacqueline is currently chair of Congresswoman Lawrence’s Women’s Advisory Committee and plans to continue to uplift the women of Michigan’s 14th Congressional District.
Zachary Weber was promoted to serve as the Legislative Director and is based in Washington, D.C. A native Michigander, he was born and raised in West Bloomfield, Michigan, and received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. He has worked in Congresswoman Lawrence’s office for 5 years.
Cody Sibulo was hired as the Communications Director and is based in Washington, D.C. He’s a Filipino American who was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and has previously worked in communications roles for Congressman Tim Ryan (OH-13) and former Congressman Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-39). Cody received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego, and Master’s degree from the George Washington University.
