U.S. Rep. Lawrence Issues Status Update on Renaming of Detroit Post Office after Aretha Franklin
Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Brenda L. Lawrence (MI-14) issued the following statement after the U.S. Senate approved H.R. 3976, legislation renaming the United States Postal Service facility located at 12711 East Jefferson Avenue in Detroit after the late national recording artist Aretha Franklin last night.

I urge President Trump to sign this legislation into law, providing our community with yet another opportunity to celebrate the outstanding life and legacy of our beloved ‘Queen of Soul,’ Aretha Franklin.”
