U.S. Rep. Lawrence Joins President Biden in Michigan Ahead of Ford's F-150 Electric Vehicle Announcement
Detroit, MI - Today, U.S. Representative Brenda L. Lawrence (MI-14) joined President Joe Biden in Michigan to tour Ford Motor Company’s Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn. This comes a day ahead of Ford’s formal unveiling of their all-electric F-150 pickup truck. Rep. Lawrence is a supporter of President Biden’s American Jobs Plan which includes a $174 billion investment in electric vehicles.
“I was proud to welcome President Biden to Michigan today. The path to building back better starts here in the Great Lakes State, where we are the epicenter of manufacturing and innovation,” said Rep. Lawrence. “With several automakers, like Ford and GM, making significant investments in electric vehicles, our nation’s electric vehicle infrastructure needs to catch up. I’m grateful that President Biden is leading the way, with the American Jobs Plan, to make those necessary investments in our EV infrastructure while creating good-paying jobs and protecting our planet. America has always been on the forefront of the future, and we can’t take our foot off the gas.”
