U.S. Rep. Lawrence Meets and Eats Dinner with Michigan National Guard
Washington, DC - Last night, U.S. Representative Brenda L. Lawrence (MI-14) met and dined with the Michigan National Guard at the U.S. Capitol to discuss current operations and logistics. This visit comes after reports of the Michigan National Guard receiving poor-quality meals, which resulted in the hospitalization of some soldiers due to undercooked food.
“Day and night, our courageous Michigan National Guard has worked tirelessly to protect the U.S. Capitol. We owe them a debt of gratitude,” said Rep. Lawrence. “I’m honored to have joined our servicemembers last night to talk about their current operations, share a meal with them, and answer questions about my work in D.C. and Michigan. Congress has a responsibility to ensure our National Guard and all our servicemembers have the tools and resources they need to successfully carry out their missions.”
