U.S. Rep. Lawrence Statement on Ongoing Violence in the Middle East

Washington, DC - Today, U.S. Representative Brenda L. Lawrence (MI-14) issued the following statement regarding the ongoing violence in the Middle East:

“I'm horrified and heartbroken by what's happening in the Middle East. The violence must end. Israel has the right to protect itself and all innocent civilians from the barrage of rocket fire coming from Hamas. Israelis and Palestinians deserve peace, security and stability and that can only be achieved through rejecting extremism and building trust. I strongly urge Israeli and Palestinian leaders to lower tensions, de-escalate the situation immediately, and work toward a viable two state solution.”
