Nancy Pelosi for years has quietly installed her allies at the helm of Democratic groups in Congress — another show of her complete command over the House Democratic Caucus. But even as the "year of the woman" is expected to bring a record number of Democratic women to the House next year — and with the party primed to win the chamber in November — some female Democrats say they’ve had enough.

Thousands turned out for the funeral which capped several days of activities in honor of Aretha Lorraine Franklin. The funeral was held at Greater Grace Temple. The church sanctuary was a mix of the high and the mighty and the meek and humble.
